Every walk in Big Walk has exactly one host: the player who creates the session. Everyone else joins the host — by friends list or join code — and the party works together until the walk ends.
Hosting a walk
- Launch Big Walk and select new walk from the main menu.
- Adjust voice settings before anyone joins.
- Open the pause menu to find your join code (bottom-left) and share it.
- Wait for the group, then start walking — players can also join mid-walk while the session is open.
Party size and scaling
Big Walk supports 2 to 12 players, and the puzzles scale to your party:
- A duo gets a tighter, more deliberate puzzle set.
- A full party gets larger spatial puzzles that assume more hands.
- Neither is "easier" — the game rebalances around your group.
Voice setup per session
The host's voice settings define the session. Before anyone loads in:
- Confirm everyone is on proximity voice (the intended experience).
- Set the walkie-talkie key and tell the group what it is.
- Spot-check one player's audio ("say something, Alex") before the group spreads out — the first split is the worst time to discover someone is silent.
Keeping a session healthy
- Appoint the host as route anchor for the first hour — they hold the session, the code, and usually the plan.
- Re-announce the join code after every significant pause; late joiners will need it.
- Use the Map Room as the group meeting point whenever the party splits.
- If someone drops, the session stays alive as long as the host is in — have the host stay put while the group regroups.
What happens when the walk ends?
The walk concludes when your group reaches the summit. From there you can start a fresh walk — either with the same crew or a new one — and the island offers enough variation in route and puzzles that a second group project stays interesting.
